Happy New Year, December 31st 2012.... see you in 2013....

Image
As the clock gets closer to the new year of 2013 and listening the Danish Queen Margrethe giving her New Years Eve speach, I find myself comfy at home inside from the cold wind and rain outside, pondering over the past year. I am not going to give into too much over the past year, I am however hoping for a better year to come, not just for me, but for us all out there... The two photos on tonights blog are both from the last day in 2011 and 2012... I haven't been out with my camera today as it was raining. So I am wishing you a Happy New Year and may 2013 be a good one.... Sunset on the last day December 31st 2011 Fireworks at local harbor December 2012....

December 25th..... Belated Merry Christmas....

Image
December 24th quite a few of my original plans got changed as I got an offer to tag along with my brother back home, which I was more than happy to do. And since my morning had been a slowly one, suddenly I could see I wouldn't be able to make it in time to do a blog before I left. I had a nice quiet and simple Christmas with my brother and his family in law, now it is 1st Christmas day where people will look and talk about the gifts they got, have a long walk from the Christmas dinner and get ready maybe for the left over.  Sadly all snow melted off and there was not that much snow in Malmoe, Sweden either.... Here a belated  Merry Christmas, the wolf photo is 2 years old, though one of my favorites too. And thank you to those who followed my December post here and shared it....  :-) Simple Christmas tree Nephew with a mini mohawk having a ball at the table...

December 23rd..... .4th Advent... almost there....

Image
So yesterday the 22nd December, I was rather tired, grocery shopping with too many other people out there, watched a bit of TV, fell asleep and went onto reading the latest new book from Author Jussi Adler-Olsen, the 5th book in the series of The Q department. I had promised to have it read before the 24th so my mother could get the book back... all done, so I can start on the next lines of books waiting for me... So today I had to return the book and went into Copenhagen to give it to a family member. So while I was in there, the snow started and the wind picked up more and more.  Nex time they say it will be very windy and snowstorm, I'm going to get a pair of skiing glasses, it was rather hard to look up from the streets to be sure you walked in the right direction.... Today is the 4th and last Advent day of this year as well "Little Christmas day"... many will celebrate it with those they can't be with on Christmas day, or just be together the day before....

December 21st..... Cold again.....

Image
December 20th was skipped as I had a slow day, so today I took some time to go outside and enjoy the good sunny weather and very cold as well... bbrrr... As I strolled around the street of city centre of Copenhagen, I couldn't help but notice people walking around to find the last Christmas gift, or go for a cafe late, meeting friends, or like me just walking around enjoying the city. Before I left Copenhagen and get back home to get some warmth back, I stopped by this fair called Tivoli, which is pretty much right in the center of Copenhagen, next to the main train station as well (makes it fairly easy to get back home afterwards as well....).  Usually you go into Tivoli doing the summer season, but the past few many years Tivoli have been open throughout December wtih the theme of winter and Christmas, you get the idea. Sometimes they change the theme every now and then every year or like this time they've kept it as it was last year I believe. It is something to be seen

December 19th....... Happy birthday......

Image
So, it is my birthday today.... yea, yea,one year older and 5 days till Christmas.... one of my yearly "traditions" is to see a movie, like when the "Ring of the lords" came out, it was either the day before or on the day itself it opened and I would see the movie on my birthday.... so it has become sort of a tradition for me to do on my birthday, if I am not doing something else, like a party (long time ago), meeting friends (lots of greetings popping up on my facebook already - thank you guys... so a movie day it is.... I will bring my camera on my walk into nearby city as the weather is dry and a bit sunny as well.... almost all snow has gone though.... will see what I come up with. How ever, I do have these two photos which are from the Royal Crown family's home/castle called Amalienborg in Copenhagen, these are taken from last year on a frosty February day. So anyone else who has birthday today too... Happy Birthday and see you around.... The

December 18th...... Time for Christmas cards... ?

Image
So had a down day yesterday, spent it most of the day sleeping away... either a sleeping bug or something else has it grip on me. Today has been a rainny day and I don't have a photo for todays blog... These days I would mostly start shipping Christmas cards to family and friends, specially the friends I've chatted with for some years now. There is nothing like opening your mail box to see envelopes with a Christmas card inside. Granted in these eletronictical times it is easier to send an email, I would still wagger a Christmas card you have written yourself beats it by miles. This year however I have to cut down on those Christmas cards, however, I wonder, do you send a Christmas card or do you do it by email nowadays??? The image below is found on the internet and does not belong to me.  I found it on google search: http://graphicsfairy.blogspot.dk/2011/11/vintage-chiristmas-clip-art-beautiful.html

December 16th.... White-tailed Eagle.... 3rd Advent day

Image
So another grey sort of foggy day and I've been inside all day once more. Todays photos are from a day trip to Sweden looking for a cousin to the white-tailed eagle, to which I found my lense was not long enough the few times we saw the eagle. It is on my wish list.... I highly recommend to do this one day trip, we saw a few other places while looking for the eagle and it was a great day out in the snow cold Sweden. Also it was one of the few places here in Scandinavia which is close to Denmark where you might be lucky to see the eagle... the guide was good at telling about the eagle that stayed the winter in Sweden. Happy 3rd Advent day. The ice on ocean breaking up... The ice showing teeth.... Frosty every where..... Tracks in the snow... This is the best photo I got of the eagle which flew just over our heads for a few seconds....

December 15th.... yearning for spring.....???

Image
So with 9 or 10 days to Christmas, a friend of mine on twitter is yearnig for spring / summer to come. I like the change of season and sure at some point in the beginning of the New Year I will look forward for spring to come too.... Today's photos are for her....

December 14th photo.... a rose....

Image
So today was an odd day, I didn't get much done today, though I did go and see the movie "The Hobbit". I won't say too much about it as I came out from the movie and read the sad news on twitter, on what had happened in USA. For that reason I am not posting a winter photo, instead I will post a rose in respect of what have happened and should not have happened.

So after staying indoor all day yesterday I really needed my walk outside today... now remember I told it was really cold yesterday like -15/-16 degrees (around 4-6 fahrenheit)?? it was a little bit "warmer" today, still just now have I got the warmth back in my body (I was outside around 3pm this afternoon... ) I made it to see the sun set... and walked quickly back home...   have a nice evening... :-) The sun is setting..... Footprints in the snow.....

Twilight Breaking Dawn part two Gala opening last photos......

Phew that took awhile before I could finish off these last photos from this event. Here are a few more from the event... I'd like to mention one thing though... while waiting for Nikki and ackson to arrive, there was this little girl (ok little - she was about 11-13 years old I think....) with her sister as well. Through the noise we started to talk a bit and I learned that the girl was looking forward to see both Nikki and Jackson, unfortunately she didn't have anything for them to sign on for her. So usually packed with my notebook, I offered her to use it as well let her borrow one of my pen, so she too could get an autograph. I did tell her it could be like 50/50 weather she got it or not... even for me... So it was mostly the waiting game that dragged out a bit, she kept asking like every 10 minutes, but finally Nikki and Jackson arrived. I had warned that the noise would be louder when they came as well adviced it would be a good idea to back away from the reilling to
