Models in New York....

Image
So after a long walk in downtown Manhattan, I walked back to starting point as a twitter friend told me to look for something. When I got to the area of Chelsea Piers, I noticed some people around some benches. When I got closer I saw it was a group of models with a photographer and hairdresser. I asked the hairdresser whom they were doing the photoshoot for and it was pronounced "Fabriatica" something... I should have asked to have it written down, as I have been trying to track down the magazine or internet page, as I wanted to see the outcome of the photoshoot. While I talked with the hairdresser and told where I was from, he said I was welcome to take photos if I wanted to and with an ok from the model, here are my photos from that encounter. For me it was an special moment, to see a real photoshoot like this in New York. If you see this model somewhere, please could you give me the link or the name of the magazine, so I can try and get it....? I would love to see the...

Tram and Roosevelt Island

Image
It may not sound as exciting as Manhattan, however do take half a day or even a whole day, take the tram across the river and stroll around the Roosevelt Island in good tempo. It is a nice way to see something different, if you are not going too far away from Manhattan while there. There may not be much to see, however Roosevelt Island does have an interesting history, it has changed over the years to be a place to live at, as it is a quiet Island and yet close to Manhattan. I took the tram twice and was suprised by how smooth it felt (ok it was not windy, so that could be the reason) and how fast it still went to get to the Island. Once there I strolled first to the north side as I had seen there was an light house. Sadly when I was there, it was sealed off due to hurricane Sandy and work was still in progress to make it safely to walk around the light house. If it is open, do yourself a favor, pack a picnic, go there and see it from a different view..... As I had walked on the oppo...

New York Library and Bryant Park

Image
I was impressed and surprised to see where New York Library was, compared to the city itself. It is located on 5th ave and defiantly a visit worth, specially on a sunny morning as it opens and if you are patience, you go up to the first floor and look over the main hall and wait for the sun to hit the street and windows outside.... makes a good lightning for a photo.... Also, if you are there early, you sjould go behind the library, where you will find Bryant Park, take a cup of tea or coffee and enjoy a peace of moment before the library opens.... I did a few times....    I didn't get to take that many photo of Bryant Park, but here a few from there.... This last photo is taken with my Samusung Galaxy 4
