Mikkel Beha Erichsen a journalist stop by....

Image
A well known Danish journalist - and popular as well - stopped by the bookstore Arnold Bucsk, Lyngby, Denmark Friday 12th 2016 to sign the book written with his son, who is travelling around the globe at sea. Since it was close I went there and got a few photos. At first when I arrived at the book store, I was a bit baffled the que for book signing wasn't any longer than well, barely a few. Then I remembered winter holiday started the same day (school is closed for a week now and many families will stay home or go travel) and that could be reason the que wasn't that long. It did change later when few more people stopped by. On the other hand, all those who got their book signed got a good time with Mikkel and he took time to each one for a quick small talk. Sometimes when you meet authors, celebs and such, you always wonder what the person will be like in person up close. Mikkel, whose thoughts proberbly was half a globe away (he and wife will be joing their sons on the shi...

Short visit by author Veronica Roth...

Image
December 14th 2015, the author of "Divergent" book series Veronica Roth stopped very shortly by Copenhagen, Denmark and came to Lyngby for the only book signing while she was here. To say the que for the signing was short would be an understatement of the year. Even though 1 ½ hour had been set off for the signing, Veronica stayed till everyone in the que had got their book signed and she even took time to chat very shortly with everyone too as well just as many photos I think.  I managed to get a few photos from where she sat, thank you to Arnold Busck and publisher Alvilda for making this happen to the Danish fans. You can press on the first photo and see it in full screen.

A sunny visit from a Wimbledon men's double winner....

Image
So when I read in the local news paper Tuesday that the newly Men's double 2012 Wimbledon winner Frederik F. Nielsen would stop by the local city hall today, I just had to stop by. How often do you get the chance to meet a winner of this game? Even with the fact that Frederik is the first Dane to ever make it to the finals with his British tennis partner Jonathan Marray. And what a final, almost 3 hours before they could cheer for winning the game. Afterwards when I saw interview and read a bit about Frederik, it was refreshing to see a person who cared more for the game he played than the fame that followed. Sure it will make life easier on the tennis part, I hope there will be more great tennis adventure out there for Frederik. All the while the congratulations took place at the local city hall, Frederik was humbled by the attention - which he in interviews have said was a bit too much at times - so it was a good thing that he knew quite a few of the people at the local city ha...
